Distance Learning Principles

遠距須知

Attend, Learn and Apply.

Be Calm, Active and Respectful (Netiquette).

 In order to achieve successful learning through a distance, the students should:

為達到有效的遠距學習，學生應該：

 (1)   follow class schedule to ATTEND class meetings (online and in classroom); for instance, do not miss the course orientation in the beginning of the course(s) taken to  learn class requirements and how to access the educational platform; *2004F Course Schedule& the School's and Classrooms' Locations.

依照課曆「上課」（在網路或教室內）﹔例如，務必參加期初的課程訓練，以獲知課程規定和如何使用教學平台﹔* 93上課程表與學校與教室位置。

 (2)  Be CALM in solving technical problems; 冷靜處理技術上的問題﹔

-- Obtain or download the necessary software provided by the instructor and complete installation prior to the course instruction (i.e. Internet Explorer, MS media player) ;

下載教師所指定的軟體並於課程開始前完成安裝程序 （例如︰Internet Explorer, MS media player）﹔

-- Technical problems are inevitable but not unsolvable.  Try to solve the problems yourself first; if you cannot do it,  ask your class teaching assistant.

網路、軟體等問題雖無可避免，但一定可以解決。遇到問題，請保持冷靜，先用常識判斷問題來源和試著自己解決。如不可行，請立刻與你的課程助教連絡。

 (3)   Be ACTIVE in learning!!!  主動學習!!!

-- Set up a schedule to log on to course regularly to retrieve and read the learning materials provided by teachers and to interact online;

自己設定學習時間，規律地進入線上教室讀取教材及進行互動﹔

 -- Be engaged actively in three different types of interaction for distance learning: Learner- Content interaction, Learner-Teacher interaction, and Learner-Learner interaction;

主動自發，進行三種遠距教學互動學習：學習者與學習教材的互動、學習者與教師的互動、學習者與學習者的互動﹔

-- Speak up if you have problems in the public discussion area or contact the instructor privately;

遇到問題時，透過討論區尋求解決辦法，或聯絡授課老師﹔

-- Take full advantage of computer conference and instructor’s face-to-face meetings.

多利用電腦會議或到校與老師會談。

 (4)   Be RESPECTFUL to fellow classmates; follow netiquette;

尊重他人，遵守線上溝通禮儀﹔

 (5)   APPLY what you learn to your work, your studies elsewhere and, most importantly, to your life.
