您會為了開口說英文而感到不自在嗎？希望有個環境、有系統地練習會話技巧和情境會話嗎？
本課提供教師學員每週一次練習日常會話機會，以達成以下目標︰
1. Confidence and Grammatical
Correctness培養以英語作口語表達之信心，並提高其所表達英語的正確性；
2. Campus Situation Conversation
Practice:
校園情境會話（如電話交談、餐廳、會議、教師休息室、接待外賓）；
3. Communication Skills:
學習以英文作請求、參加討論（如︰表達異議、提問）、討論日常議題之技巧。 |

六、課程簡介： |
This is a course in practical, every day
English of special use for university teachers,
secretaries and assistants in academic settings.
Although each class is different, class content focuses
on practice "lessons" in how to give tours of various
parts of the Fu Jen campus to foreign visitors, for
example, how to offer opening comments at academic
conferences to welcome or to introduce guests, and how
to introduce one's own academic presentations in
English. Class materials include sample writings and
dialogues by the instructor.
In addition to concentrating on English
in an academic setting, the course also provides a
limited amount of focus on news events as reported in
English. In this way, colleagues at Fu Jen may feel more
confident of how to speak in English on common
conversational matters with whomever they may meet on
campus. For such conversational topics, both students
and
instructor offer reprints of newspaper articles.
This course is very participative in
spirit. Each student is expected to speak in every
class, as far as possible, and the instructor uses a
"modeling" or "patterning" approach with repetition of
key phrases and simple sentences to build better
pronunciation and strengthen the students' confidence. |
