Internet Romance is Not the Only Way to Meet Your Future Spouse
ˇ@

ˇ@
ˇ@     We are in the twenty-first century, the age of technology. People are using computers and the Internet in every aspect of their lives, killing time, managing finances, searching for jobs, going shopping, and even finding romance. The same life style keeps on repeating and bothering those lonely, busy and boring human beings. Theyˇ¦d like to get out of the small cage which theyˇ¦re living in, and the Internet overcomes the limitations by connecting people from all over the world. Here come the internet romances, online relationships, free personal ads and even cyber sex. Internet dating is increasing and becoming a popular method of finding mates, and also providing a way for modern people to enjoy instant relationships. It is a trend and everyone has been influenced more or less. Why is it attracting and addictive to the Internet users? ˇ@
ˇ@     First, to start an online relationship is quite easy, but full of lies. He or she can be anyone and anything he or she wants to be. Their personal files are nothing more than series of made-up stories. Accordingly, a jerk in the real world would have become charming on the Internet. Second, the users could easily hide secretes from their Internet mates behind the screen. Sitting in front of the computer is much safer than going out, specifically for the reason of privacy. People might feel guilty of telling lies to the others whom they meet everyday, but on the internet it doesnˇ¦t matter that people make up stories, because itˇ¦s the world of imagination. ˇ@
ˇ@ Third, people admire each other despite the physical appearance. A part of the participants claim that they pay attention to the ˇ§soul communicatingˇ¨ which sounds finer than normal dating. Lastly, for shy people, and those who are thoughtless and easy to trust people, online dating is so much easier and comfortable. Without eyes looking at them, they could express themselves better and fluently. Internet romance is spreading worldwide. It is exciting and miraculous since it offers humanity another way to love and experience romance. ˇ@
ˇ@ However, dating in the cyber world is totally different from in the real world, and most people are unconscious about that. The tragedy happens while both sides decide to meet in person. Thereˇ¦s always a stereotype of something or someone that we can never deny. When the truth is out of your own imagination, things are losing control. For example, the incident took place in France. A thirty-year-old engineer, male, met a ˇ§thirty-and-something-year-old gorgeous enchantressˇ¨ in the online chatting room. They had been flirting with each other for 3 months. They thought it was fate to meet such a mate so matched. Finally they couldnˇ¦t wait to meet personally. It was kind of embarrassing when the engineer found out that his ˇ§Miss Rightˇ¨ was his mother. Even worse, everybody from the neighborhood heard about that, and the father of the guy, and also the husband of the lady felt humiliated. ˇ@
ˇ@ Although there are a lot of problems and conflicts between a couple in the real world, the point is that we canˇ¦t live a life alone, which means connecting to the world by Internet only. Internet is one of the resources which we make use of, not the only way to know about the world. Internet romance is fresh, rapid and momentary; it doesnˇ¦t last and fade away easily. We believe that the real relationship is based on real interaction. Besides, the number of Internet crime is increasing day by day. Those who are eager for Internet romance are cheated and even hurt. Apparently, they are the victims of online relationship. After all, Internet romance is built on imagination full of uncertainties and dangers. ˇ@
