 Is Singleness Really a Life of Heaven?

    From long time ago to nowadays, the reasons for people choosing to marry are to have a son to carry on the family name, to have a sweet home, and to fulfill parents’ demand. Besides, marriage is many people’s dream from childhood. Many people desire a happy marriage, but what kind of marriage is what we call “happy”? Nobody has the same answer. As matter of fact, many people’s marriage is not happy. There are conflicts and complaints, but they work out to make their marriage happy and last in the lifetime. Hardship in their marriage does not destroy them; on the contrary, it strengthens their love and trust on each other. Unfortunately, not many couples can make through it. Their marriage ends up divorce. That is why people are so afraid of marriage. They even want to run away and stay single all lifetime. 

    People choose to remain unmarried because of many reasons. First, if we cannot find aright person, we can not marry. Finding Mr. Right or Miss White is not as easy as a piece of cake. Second more and more people end their marriage in divorce. This phenomenon makes the young generation question about the meaning of marriage. Third, the increasing domestic violence causes people think negatively about marriage. Nowadays, the young generation rather chooses to cohabit than legally married. They believe that a marriage certificate is nothing. A paper does not guarantee lover’s love able to last forever. In addition, financial pressure of maintaining a family is growing higher and higher. There are reasons why people turn down marriage.

    The above reasons are not the whole story. Most importantly, you must lose private and leisure time if you choose not to remain single. In other words, you can not enjoy freedom. For example, you may spend time to prepare lunch for your sweetheart, clean the dirty clothes (of course double load), sweep up the house or do some chores. A hundred and one things occupy every day. Besides, when you get married, you may run into some problems of communication with the elders in the family such as having a son to carry on family duty, disputing about what kind of education is good for children, or how to distribute housework among family members 

    Because of these reasons, more and more people choose not to marry. Perhaps there are some other reasons we do not find out, but it is true that married couples are decreasing now. Actually, the phenomenon is not that kind of promising.  . Fewer people getting married means fewer children are born. Declining birth rate is not good news for the society or country since it means less labor, less production, and less financial contribution. We need new power to make the world go around making it into a booming one. For some reasons, we can not deny single life is agreeable.  Without the responsibilities of family, without the problems about children, without the pressures about supporting a family, it is really a fascinating life. On the other hand, singleness means loneliness and less solidarity since fewer responsibilities are demanded. However, nothing is important than leading a delightful life. Married or single, it’s all your choice.
