My Life at University

ˇ@
ˇ@     Iˇ¦m an overseas Chinese student in Taiwan.  Although I can speak Chinese in Taiwan, I come from Hong Kong. I studied at the University Preparatory School for Overseas Chinese students in Lin Kou.  At that school everyone left his home and country to study in Taiwan. There we could also learn many things about Taiwan and China. We led a regular life.  We woke up at half past six every day. At seven oˇ¦clock we ate breakfast, and raised the flag at eight.  We sang Taiwanˇ¦s national anthem every Monday.  After one year, I graduated from the preparatory school, passed the exam, and joined Fu-Jen Catholic University. In the freshman year, I seldom joined any recreation.  I seldom joined our department activities, either. I felt worried about my schoolwork and I felt lonely with classmates.  Fortunately, I lived in the school dorm.  I had met some Hong Kong friends.  Sometimes, we went shopping and surfed on computer.  At first I had no idea about how to improve my study.  Sometimes I was absent from lessons. At the end of the school year, I failed in English. In junior year, I got hired a part time job in a clinic.  It made me busier than before.  I couldnˇ¦t have any time to meet my friends. Worse than this, I took too many credits.  Sometimes I skipped classes. I think the part time job did no good to my study.  But I really need it because my mother gave me only tuition, food and boarding fees and I should earn the allowance by myself.  I think my college life is boring.  In this year I have more free time since I quit my job and is preparing the job I am interested to do when I graduate.  I like to stay in Taiwan to start a family. So I hope that I can find a good job in Taiwan in the future. ˇ@
