Ray:    Good morning, everybody.  I¡¦m Randy, nice to meet you.  What are your
   names?

¡@

¡@
¡@

Janet: Hi, I am Janet.

¡@

¡@
¡@

Kelly:   Good morning. I¡¦m Kelly.

¡@

¡@
¡@

David: Hello, I am David.

¡@

¡@
¡@

Ray:    I major in German, and I graduated from Taichung second senior high
   school.   How about you, Janet?

¡@

¡@
¡@

Janet: I major in Japanese.  I graduated from Hwa-Chiang senior high school.
I come from Hsintien.  My hobby is watching TV and window shopping
with   friends.  How about Kelly and David?

¡@

¡@
¡@

Kelly:  We¡¦re in the same department, Ray.

¡@

¡@
¡@

Ray:    You are?

¡@

¡@
¡@

Kelly:   Yes, but we are in different classes.  I am not an outgoing person, so I
prefer studying in library at breaks

¡@

¡@
¡@

David: You are interesting guys!  I major in French.  My interests are classic
music, sports, English literature, and so on.  What¡¦s more, I like to cook
pasta in my free time.  Maybe some day you can be my guest, and I¡¦ll
treat you my excellent exclusive formula pasta.

¡@

¡@
¡@

Ray:    Woo¡K. that sounds great.  I can¡¦t wait.

¡@

¡@
¡@

David: Ok!  But make your date in advance.  I¡¦m not always available. ( look at
his watch) Woops!  The teacher is coming.  I think we had better stop
   gossiping.

¡@

¡@
¡@

Janet: All right!  We will go together to your home other time.

On campus

¡@
¡@

Janet: Hello, Kelly.  After three weeks of college life, I think our university is
very beautiful and convenient.  What do you think?

¡@

¡@
¡@

Kelly:  No comments.  Just that it¡¦s hard to find a nice restaurant around here.
Where do you usually go for lunch?  Can you recommend me some
     places to go?

¡@

¡@
¡@

Janet: Oh, I usually have lunch with my friend in the cafeteria of Science and
Engineering.  Maybe you can go there with your friend or me some day.

¡@

¡@
¡@

Kelly:   Is it cheap?  And how about hygiene there?

¡@

¡@
¡@

Janet: I think it is not bad and it¡¦s much cheaper than other restaurants in out
school.  All kinds of food there are in big quantities and they are delicious
     too!

¡@

¡@
¡@

Kelly:   Sounds tempting!  I must go there some day.

¡@

¡@
¡@

Janet: Last Saturday night, I went to the Shi-Ling night market.  Have you ever
      been there?

¡@

¡@
¡@

Kelly:   No, never.  What did you shop for?  Is it fun there?

¡@

¡@
¡@

Janet: I bought some clothes and ornaments.  Besides, I ate some Taiwanese
food with them.  There are many beautiful and cheap things, maybe
you can try to go shopping there some day.

¡@

¡@
¡@

Kelly:  That sounds great!  I must tell my friends to go there with me some
days.  I think it will be fun.

In MacDonalds¡¦s

¡@
¡@

Kelly:   Hi, Janet, David, and Ray.  Sorry for being late!

¡@

¡@
¡@

Janet: I¡¦m fine.  It took me a long time to dress up myself this morning, but it¡¦s
worthy because my sister said I look good today.  And that¡¦s why I¡¦m in
a good mood today.  And how about you guys?

¡@

¡@
¡@

Ray:    Not so good.  I still can¡¦t adapt to my work.  I often speak German in
English way.  So I often make mistakes.  That¡¦s so embarrassing.  But I
think I could manage it soon.

¡@

¡@
¡@

David: I also get some problems with my major. You know, though French is a
beautiful language, it¡¦s difficult to learn well various verb forms in
French.  In addition, my computer crashed down this morning, I¡¦m
worrying about how to add course online now!

¡@

¡@
¡@

Janet: Today is so busy for me.  I had to do my job this morning. I had a
quarrel with my father yesterday, so I don¡¦t feel so good today.  I am
thinking about renting a room outside and live alone.

¡@

¡@
¡@

Ray:    That sounds we still can¡¦t handle our college life.  I hope we¡¦ll feel alright
      in few days.

¡@

¡@
¡@

Kelly:  Yes, let¡¦s stop complaining about our problems and try to solve them.  I
believe things get handy by then.

Schoolwork, Clubs, and Social life

In men¡¦s dorm

¡@
¡@

David: Anything new, Ray?

¡@

¡@
¡@

Ray:    OH, ya!  You know here are so many pretty girls in our school.  I¡¦m
eager to make friends with them.  And, how about you?  Is there
   anything interesting?

¡@

¡@
¡@

David: Surely!  I met a lot of sweet girls in the college of foreign language, and
I¡¦m gonna crazy!!  Fu-Jen University is really men¡¦s heaven.  As you
know, Fu-Jen is famous for it¡¦s charming ladies.  We¡¦ll have many dates.

¡@

¡@
¡@

Ray:   Ya, that¡¦s right. OH!  I almost forget to tell you that my classmates in the
Department of Germen are interested in associating with the girls in the
Department of Italian.  Would you like to join us?

¡@

¡@
¡@

David: I¡¦m sorry, but to get the scholarship, I have to study hard to get good
grades in my class.  In this way, I think I don¡¦t have so much time to
make blind-dates with girls majoring in Italian.  Anyway, thanks.

¡@

¡@
¡@

Ray:   OH ¡K.., that¡¦s all right.  After all, it¡¦s up to you.  By the way, there are
lots of interesting clubs in campus, which on had you participated?

¡@

¡@
¡@

David: Well¡K¡K , it¡¦s really a big headache for me.  There are many student
clubs in campus, and each of them is so interesting.  Can you give me
   some advice?

¡@

¡@
¡@

Ray:    In fact, I had the same problem as you.  But, finally I join the table-
tennis club.  I just want to exercise and have fun.  That¡¦s all I need. You
just need to figure out what kind of goal you want to achieve.  Maybe,
it¡¦s for fun, physical challenge, social relationship, devotion, or art
appreciation.  The only thing you have to do is taking it easy and think
   twice before your decision!

¡@

¡@
¡@

David: Thanks for your advice.  I think I¡¦ve got my answer now.  I¡¦ll join the
orchestra, because I like to play music to entertain people.  Thus, I¡¦ll
get my ¡§bravo¡¨ after each of my performing.  That¡¦s what I want!

¡@
¡@

Ray:   Great!  I¡¦m sure that you¡¦ll meet ideal dates in that club.  Then, don¡¦t
forget to introduce me some sweet girls in your club!!

¡@

¡@
¡@

David: It¡¦s my pleasure!
