| Alan: | Tony, don’t you think that in Chinese society parents and teachers always request students’ schoolwork to turn out the best. No matter what interest you have or what else you want to handle, to them, reading books is always the most important. | ||
| Tony: | Yeah. We surely all passed through this stage in childhood. Parents always say that if you want to play, you will have to get the work done first. | ||
| Alan: | Otherwise, they will warn you if the schoolwork is not well attended, what do you want to do in the future? | ||
| Tony: | These speeches and thoughts are familiar sounding to everybody. But have we attentively listened to them from heart? And do we have calmly thought the school work is really more important than any thing else? | ||

| Tony: | Something is right about this view. Taking schoolwork seriously may increase our ability to solve problems, strengthen our willpower, and thus augment our knowledge. | ||
| Alan: | But a report points out that students, who got first grades in school days, are not necessarily the first in office. | ||
| Tony: | I think that maybe the report concludes that parents of these students gave their children stress since childhood to read books hard. These students were forced to discard their own interest; at the same time, to instill wrong idea that "result" is more important than "process". | ||
| Alan: | Some psychologist point out education has two kinds of goals. One goal is for social interaction; another one is personal development. For instance, social interaction type students are easy to obtain praises from teachers and peers, but they study in a passive way. | ||
| Tony: | On the other hand, students who focus on personal development study diligently. | ||
| Alan: | It is good, but it is dangerous since they neglect their own interest. Eventually, they enjoy study very much, develop significantly and know much from books, but they don't know much about what's going on around them. | ||
| Tony: | Therefore, the best education system is help youngsters develop knowledge; at the same time, invest to help them discover the world which goes beyond his personal development. | ||
