Taiwan’s Traditional Snack

    ancestors passed down to the present generation. That is why various places
    are famous for their own snacks.

B: Well, Taiwan is a gourmand paradise; so many snacks in Taiwan are good
    heaven food. Particularly “the night market” is the most unique culture.

A: Yes, there gathered are the young stall keepers who are good chefs to cook with
    solid ingredients.

A: I frequently hear foreigners fear eating “stinky tofu”. This is Taiwan’s traditional
    snack. It smells stinky but it tastes delicious. Foreigners shouldn’t be frightened
    by this flavor!

B: Well usually good food attracts by color and flavor, but “stinky tofu” is by its
    smell. Moreover, to make “stinky tofu” more delicious, it’s better to eat with
    pickled vegetable. When two are mixed, flavor in the mouth is really heaven!

A: Yes, I agree with you. And another comes the drink which is known “pearl milk
    tea” It is fun to chew pearls while one is drinking the milk tea. The flavor
    spreads over aroma in mouth that foreigners like this rink very much.

B: I’ve heard that people in Taiwan make traditional snacks famous because they
    create food the natives love.

A: Yes, for instance, Tainan sandwich known are “coffin board” is hot meat and
    vegetable placed between two slices of toast. The sandwich is fried golden
    yellow and crispy. This is why customers love it so much.

B: By the way, I know another example is a local beverage. It is “winter melon
    tea”. The beverage is made from “winter melon”. It is first boiled in hot water
    added with red sugar. Then it is sit cool and cold in refrigerator. When It is
    served cold or cool, it is refreshing. However, when it is served hot, the
    beverage keeps you warm in winter time.

A: In addition to these, bowl cake is also famous and popular. No wonder
    foreigners think Taiwan is the heaven of gourmet food.

B: Oh, yes.

A: Although traditional snacks can not compete with the food served at grand
    hotels, traditional snack retains Taiwan’s original taste. It does not contain

B: Nowadays people taste more and more exotic food. Perhaps they want to taste
