多媒體教材教法-網 (Multimedia Teaching Materials)

This course enables students to:

(1)   identify and learn about a wide variety of uses of technology in education and English language learning; 學習不同形式的教育媒體

(2)   experience learning of English language through the use of different types of media; 體驗利用不同媒體學習英文

(3)   read and discuss research papers related to instructional design models; 閱讀及討論課程課計模式的論文

(4)   develop your own English language learning sources using ViewletBuilder, HyperCam/PowerCam and other software; 利用網站設計軟體 ViewletBuilder, HyperCam/PowerCam製作英語教學單元

(5)identify other technologies which could be used to evaluate the outcome of students' learning through media 瞭解可以評估利用多媒體學習的成效

     When we talk about learning with media, most of people immediately think of the use of computers and the Internet. One often forgets that paper-based materials such as books, posters, and brochures are also considered as media for learning. This course is designed to introduce the underlying concepts and the use of different types of media (e.g., non-projected media, projected visuals, audio, video, computer, and the Internet) to English language learners, so that they will access these materials to help their learning in general as well as learning of English language. The practice developing multimedia-based materials and the use of JoinNet for videoconferences in the course will especially help those who hope to teach in the future. Since this is a graduate level course, students will read research papers related to multimedia teaching (in general and in English language) and different instructional design models.
