This course is designed to enable students, by continuing to improve their English and through constant participation in the online activities,
to read English articles with comprehension of the information they contain; (理解文章內容。)
to select the main ideas, take notes and summarize;
to analyze the organization of essays and paragraphs;
to learn writing mechanics through reading process;
to apply the above learned skills in writing.
學生修習本課程將參與各項線上學習活動，以增進自我英語能力。修畢本課程後，學生應具備以下能力:
�X 有效閱讀並理解英文文章；
�X 了解文章主要大意及概念；
�X 分析篇章、段落結構；
�X 在閱讀文章的過程中，學習各種寫作技巧；
�X 實際運用以上技巧寫作。

評分標準

1. Weekly Assignments (50%)(每週作業 50%)
a. 10 Quizzes (30%) (10次小考 30%)
b. 5 Writing Exercises (10%) (5次寫作練習 10%)
c. Online Discussions (10%) (線上討論 10%)
d. A Journal (Bonus) (額外)(週記一篇)
2. Participation and Performance (10%)(課堂參與表現 10%)
3. Midterm Exam (20%) (期中考(20%))
