  • LitWeb:- The Norton Introduction to Literature Websit that provides workshops on literature, instruction on skills for writing about literature, glossary of literary terms, and quizzes. You may study their glossary and play with the interactive flashcard interface to brush up on your knowledge about the literary terms.
  • The English Server Fiction Collection: A site with a collection of short stories, novels, and criticism and a site where you find links to The English Server's drama and poetry collections, too. Please note that their collection of magzines were removed from their server and is now a broken link.
  • LitLinks: A website that provides links with annotations "to show you what kinds of information about a work, its author, or period you'll find on each site."
  • NYU Literature, Arts & Medicine Database: A literature database that "an annotated bibliography of prose, poetry, film, video and art." Summaries of and commentaries on may famous authors' lives and works can be found here.
  • Project Gutenberg: A project founded by Michael Hart in 1971 to create and provide free eBooks. A collection of 17,000 free eBooks, including audio books, may be accessed here.
  • The Internet Movie Database (IMDb): A good stop for you to search for movie releases that may be relevant to the essays you read; also great for you to read movie reviews and view trailors.

  • The OWL at Purdue: Purdue University's Online Writing Lab that provides tutorials, handouts, workshops and presentations to users learning to write academic papers.
  • The NC State Online Writing Lab : North Carolina State University's OWL that gives tips on effective writing and links to " self-help resources and online writing guides." Check out the Grammar Hotline Archives to find answers to your questions about grammar.
  • Guide to Grammar and Writing: A website sponsored by the Capital Community College Foundation. This site provides very useful grammar explanations, handouts, interactive exercises and quizzes.
  • Practical English & Writing [實用英文與寫作]: A partner website of the FJU CEWeb Project developed by Ms. Cynthia Lin [林德玲老師], providing writers with samples of student writings and teacher revisions. Visit the Revision link on the website's main menu to access the samples.
  • Tracy's Grammar: Also a partner website of the FJU CEWeb Project developed by Ms. Tracy Su [蘇興華老師]. You may check out the Study Map to understand the structure of each unit and then take the unit-by-unit lessons.
  • From Reading to Writing: Also Read the To New Visitors page carefully to make your navigation easy. Then, click on the Course Content button on the menu to check out the week-by-week lessons.

  • Dave's ESL Cafe: A place for ESL/EFL teachers and students.
  • Activities for ESL Students: A website with "quizzes, tests, exercises and puzzles to help you learn English as a Second Language."
  • Interesting Things for ESL Students: A fun ESL study site with "word games, puzzles, quizzes, exercises, slang, proverbs and much more."
  • PBS Kids: A language learning website with games, stories, music, and activities designed for kids of English as a First Language.
  • english-at-home.com: An interactive website with simple lessons on grammar, speaking, vocabulary, idioms, etc. as well as quizzes.
  • Fun with English: An ESL website developed for Hispanic learners of English as a Second Language. You may find the CALL (computer-assisted language learning) lessons interesting. Also,the student writings may serve as examples for your creative writing projects.
