Prejudice
Prejudice
is a negative prejudgment of the member(s) of a race, a group or
even an individual that contradicts the reality. A prejudiced person
tends to believe that his or her own group is superior to others in
intelligence, character, or behavior. Sexual
and racial discrimination
are two typical types of prejudice. In
traditional Chinese society, the prejudice
of sex is the most common issue. The male disparaged
the female, and it was not easy for a woman to get a high status in
the society. Female workers were assigned the same workload as the
male workers; however, they were lowly paid and considered weaker in
leadership. In relation to races,
prejudice brings conflicts and battles. Clashes burst out easily
between different ethnic groups. The famous Ku-Klux-Klan in the U.S.
would be the best representative of this matter of a white force
against black people.
Overall,
it is difficult to find a reasonable argument for the existence of
prejudice or to stop it spreading out in a society, but we
ourselfves could be more understanding and not to misjudge others.
