The
topic for each week's lesson is given in the syllabus below. Lectures
and classroom
discussion will conform to the contents of this syllabus to help prepare
lessons before and after the class. Homework and written examinations
are also included in the syllabus. Students are expected to give themselves
enough working hours to finish a piece of good work and hand it in at
due time.
Student's academic
performance is evaluated in accordance with three types of homework
and two written examinations. Evaluation is made according to the student's
ability to use English independently in a real-time working context.
Students are encouraged
to be good planners, organizers and thinkers with competent language
performance. Under these circumstances, they are trained to be innovators,
able to accept challenges and change to solve problems with mature skills.
Students who are passive and dependent learners will encounter a difficult
time. They need support from remedial English foundation courses to
strengthen their intellectual ability.
