[Correction Symbols] [Online Revision] [Student Gallery]

¡@
As your language ability is growing, you can write a paragraph, a composition, or sometimes an essay. By this stage, you must learn to monitor your writing on your own rather than counting on your teacher¡¦s correction. We call this task ¡§proofreading¡¨ and ¡§revision¡¨. You check your mistakes in grammar or word usage and you yourself also check weak development of your ideas in several paragraphs. You correct and improve them on your own. This is not an easy job for EFL students like you. However, your teacher will assist you to acquire this habit. Normally, teachers will not rewrite or correct mistakes for students. Instead, correction symbols are provided to indicate what is wrong with the language or content. A table of such symbols is prepared. How to use them for correction is also explained.

Several samples of students written works are displayed.  Language mistakes and weak content are marked, analyzed, and changed by the teacher so that students will understand ¡§why¡¨ and ¡§how¡¨  methods to improve. After revising from several drafts, a good work is finished. These students¡¦ good works are displayed on Student Gallery from which students can know how to develop content by discussion or description and also learn the teacher¡¦s expectation of students to turn out good papers.
