We
are not reading for nothing.
Reading actually prepares us to communicate with people
by writing or speaking so that people know what you
understand or how they can help you, and so on. This
section focuses on several types of writing in which you
can tell your ideas logically and systematically. First,
you must know that one composition or essay is made up
of several
paragraphs.
There are some requirements to write a well-developed
English paragraph if meaning is to be clearly conveyed. |

Next, if you know how to write a good paragraph, you
must also know how to organize these paragraphs by using
several rhetorical patterns such as cause and effect,
description, contrast and comparison, or process of how
to do something.
They are grouped into
¡§expository writing¡¨
in the section. Rhetorical patterns help you generate
and organize ideas in good order and make it easy for
your reader to understand. |

However, such written work is not easy. You need also to
know how to write an outline, to know how to include
main ideas in your writing plan which takes place at the
very early stage of your writing work. In addition to
these, very often you need to borrow the author¡¦s ideas.
You are not supposed to memorize or reproduce their
language. On the contrary, you need to say their ideas
in your own words and sentences. Thus you need also to
practice how to
summarize.
This section provides several tips to help you do so. As
you did before, simply click the buttons. Let the
computer guide your study. |
