[Correction Symbols] [Online Revision] [Student Gallery]

¡@
Very often students¡¦ writing contains careless mistakes in grammar and word usage. Rather than correction for students, the teacher points out mistakes for students to correct on their own. In addition to language, if ideas are not specifically described or explained in the text, the teacher can also use correction symbols to ask students strengthen the content by adding more detail to support discussion. Based on this practice, students¡¦ writing ability can be essentially improved. Accordingly, self-proofreading and revision is one of the best ways to enhance students to write well. To help students develop proofreading and revision, correction symbols review and remind students of the writing knowledge they are instructed about grammar, vocabulary skills, meaning creation, and rhetorical structure. The Correction Symbols Table as below shows is for students to refer when they are revising language and content. The symbols were originally identified and underlined by the teacher on students¡¦ drafts. Students may check teacher¡¦s symbols against the table when editing and revising. Correction symbols on the table are divided into three categories: grammar, vocabulary, and content. Meanwhile, the codes are arranged in alphabetical order for easy reference.
