However, the Egyptian temple, Mediapolis, has longer history than the architecture of St. Peter¡¦s Cathedral in Vatican city. The Egyptian temples are used to perform many other significant functions. First, the temples were not only for worship. They were also served as fortresses, administrative centers, concrete expression of government and the royal retreat. Moreover, the temples owned many valuable possessions. They not only owned land but also received offered livestock for sacrificing and donations. There were also offices for priests, engineers and technicians who were responsible for building the temples. In ancient time, the kings were considered gods. After they died, their remains were buried deep in the temples and were worshiped by people. Above all, Egyptian temples and god mansions were built as much for political as well as religious purposes. This is the main difference between the Egyptian and traditional temples.
